HISTORY OF A FARRIER

A farrier for all intensive purpose was a blacksmith. Farrier's forged horseshoes and fitted them having a great deal of expertise. Blacksmith's also forged andrions for fireplaces, wrought iron gates, swords and agricultrial tools. A farrier was a tradesman and a master of his craft reaching back hundres of years. 

WHAT IS A FARRIER

Farrarius is a latin word meaning of Iron or Blacksmith.  Farrier's specialize in equine hoof care, caring for animals such as donkey's and horses.  A farrier will observe for signs of disease and potental lameness issues. They will maintain hooves by using rasps and nippers to cut away hoof material, thus maintaining foot balance by keeping proper shape and size, then they will clean the hooves and cut away excess hoof wall, dead sole and frog.
